Robert Scholz is a licensed marriage and family therapist and professional counselor who specializes in the assessment and treatment of adolescents, young adults and families. Having worked in a variety of mental health settings, Robert is considered an expert in the fields of family violence, substance abuse, sexually compulsive behaviors and men's issues. He has also worked extensively with faith leaders in helping them navigate and respond to issues of abuse and addiction in their communities. Scholz currently serves in Pepperdine University's Counseling Center as the Assistant Director and Alcohol and Other Drug Program Coordinator and teaches in Pepperdine's Graduate School of Psychology. Robert co-authored the book, Engaging Resistance, and several other book chapters on the topics of addiction and men's mental health concerns. As a frequent presenter and trainer locally and nationally, Robert enjoys the opportunity to make conversations about challenging topics easy to understand, while offering participants practical strategies on how to respond effectively and with compassion.
